Corrections
Rules and data in futures change, and we get things wrong too. Rather than pretend we're always right, we list what we've changed in the open. We think that's part of being trustworthy.
How to reach us about an error
If you find a factual error, out-of-date data, or wording that's easy to misread anywhere on this site, email [email protected] and please spell out the specific page link and the exact sentence you think is wrong; a link to the relevant Gate official page or another authoritative source is even better. Once we've verified it, we'll fix it and log the change below.
How we handle itFor substantive corrections that affect understanding or could mislead, we leave a record on this page saying what changed and why. Typos and layout tweaks that don't affect meaning aren't logged individually. Where data that changes is involved, we tend to switch to a qualitative description plus "whatever Gate's official page shows", rather than pinning down a new fixed figure.

Made the wording on maintenance margin rate less absolute
When explaining liquidation, the first version wrote the "maintenance margin rate" as if it were a fixed, unchanging figure, which could leave readers thinking it was one universal number that never moves. In reality the maintenance margin rate varies by position tier, differs across platforms and gets adjusted. We've changed it to "varies by tier; go by what Gate's contract-rules page and order page show", and removed anything that could be read as a fixed value. Thanks to a reader who wrote in to point this out.

Clarified that the funding settlement interval isn't fixed
The first version used "settled every 8 hours" as a general statement, which could give the impression it's one fixed value across all contracts and all platforms. In fact the settlement interval can differ by contract and by platform, and can be adjusted. We've changed it to "commonly settled every few hours; the exact interval is whatever Gate's contract page shows", and added a consistent "as verified" note wherever that figure comes up.
June 2026Disclaimer · affiliate disclosure
Fixed a phrase that contradicted the stated benefit
A later review found that the early disclosure used deterministic phrases such as "no extra cost" and "usually qualifies" without a recorded source. It now uses conditional wording: this site may earn a commission; final costs, whether any discount exists, its form and eligibility follow Gate's official page. We no longer promise availability or a rate.
