Funding cost estimator
Hold a perpetual long enough and funding gets deducted from (or paid into) your account one settlement at a time. Enter the notional value, the per-period funding rate you looked up, and how long you plan to hold, and this estimates how many times funding settles and roughly how much you'd pay (or receive) in total. Glance at it before you open, so you don't "get the direction right but get ground down by funding."
This estimates with "number of settlements = floor(holding time ÷ settlement interval), cumulative funding = notional value × (rate% ÷ 100) × number of settlements." The funding rate can be positive or negative and changes every period: when it's positive, longs pay shorts; when it's negative, the reverse. This only does a rough calculation using the single per-period rate you entered — the actual value each period, the exact settlement times, and whether you're in the position at that moment all affect the result. The number of settlements, the interval, and the rate all follow Gate's contract page and official rules. This tool is for estimation only and isn't financial advice.
